  1. These devices are great for a pick me up but will never replace a therapist. They just gloss over the actually issues at hand and make the person feel momentairly good. Though if we were to use them in practice it would make our jobs way easier and more direct as well.

  2. Masseuse used to be the standard term for female massage therapists (and masseur for male massage therapists), just as female flight attendants were once called stewardesses. However, in the 1980s, the term fell out of use in the massage industry, as it came to be associated with sex work.

  3. Those tools are great to use, the only downfall is people very often don't know what areas to apply the device. As a massage therapist for 5 years I find people honestly don't understand the function of pain and all the structures involved with pain. Example, I very often get desk workers who come in with lower back pain and don't realize that glut inactivation and tight hip flexors may be the core cause of lower back pain, so applying the device directly to the affected area will do very little long term to help rectify the problem.

A masseuse is simply someone who offers massages but hasn't been trained or belong to a regulating college. I saw someone say that masseuse and masseur are french terms for massage therapists while they are french terms they still describe someone who isn't licensed. I studied in french and the french term for massage therapist is massothérapeute, a masseuse can't bill to insurance companies and again as no formal training in the field of massage.

  5. Guy's if you want to be train as a professional massage therapist just drop me a message in my instagram.. I've been doing this career for almost 1 decade.. I am ITEC Diploma… My IG is androsverheem23..

  6. No! Lol not only have I been an LMT for 15 yrs, theres no replacement for human hands. Not all are created equal though. Also if clients are adverse to touch anything is better than nothing to help promote relaxation.

  7. I'm a practicing Registered Massage Therapist in Canada. I love your videos, but I'm pretty disappointed with this one. Can a machine assess its patient? Can it determine if there may be serious underlying conditions that need further medical attention? These machines are a good add-on to self care (when appropriate), but they shouldn't replace a trained professional.

  8. Here's my 2 cents on this topic ..During the 1921 season I had many massages with happy endings .. Ended the year with The greatest season in Major League Baseball History

  9. I am a qualified massage therapist and yes, my session isn’t cheap! I don’t wear formal shirts and ties cos my job is very physical, I don’t use tools on my clients, I don’t lecture them, I just put my hands and arms to work , I spend hours literally sweating and using my entire energy. They end up paying me even more cos they are so grateful for feeling great and looked after. Now ask them if the would buy one of those machines? 😆🤷🏻‍♂️

  10. I'm a massage therapist and you really didn't go over their benefits . I have used massage tools and they help with circulation and light treatment. This title was miss leading and a bit of an insult to my profession.

  11. As a licensed massgage therapist I was disappointed in your title today. Even though your approach draws an avid audience, I know you well understand the cooperative effort between massage therapy and chiropractic care. I accept this as interim care that does not replace massage or physical therapy in anyway. It would have been better received by us professionals had you offered up a similiar opinion.

  12. I don’t think they are actually telling anyone to fire their massage therapist. It’s just a catchy YouTube title. So many people seem to be in an uproar about a YouTube video title. It’s just meant to grab your attention. They are just suggesting products for those who possibly cannot afford a massage therapist, or for times when you have a pain or kink on your therapist’s off hours, or as a supplemental tool. Those type of tools have their place and can co-exist with professional treatments.

  13. I find a combination of getting a fortnightly massage and using either my handheld percussion massager or the one you put on a seat that does your whole back. Must admit Bob, the foot massager is calling out to me!
